There are different types of anxiety disorders. We take the time to listen to your symptoms and come up with a comprehensive treatment plan to help you return to a good quality of life.
02
Offen misunderstood and frequently misdiagnosed. We listen carefully, as questions and work with you to build a treatment plan that works.
05
PTSD
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. We personalize your treatment, taking into account your symptom severity, patient preferences and medication tolerance.
03
Depression
We take your symptoms seriously, treat every patient with compassion and respect, and develop a plan based on your unique needs and goals.
06
Autism
We offer Autism diagnostic evaluations for children (as young as age 5), adolescents, and adults. Evaluations are available in both the Temple and San Marcos office locations. These evaluations must be completed in person.
ADHD/ADD
Many people live with ADHD for years without realizing it because it doesn't look the same in everyone. Now more than ever adult women are mislabeled with anxiety or depression when the real problem is lifelong inattention. Men may be more likely to struggle with impulsivity, restlessness, or difficulty with organization and follow-through, but every person is different. We don't believe in quick labels or one-size-fits-all evaluations. We take the time to listen and understand you, the whole person. If you've always felt like something was different but couldn't explain why, we're here to listen and take you seriously. This condition is easily managed with medications, and we can also help with suggestions for lifestyle changes.
Bipolar
Bipolar disorder is often misunderstood and frequently misdiagnosed. It can look like depression, anxiety, ADHD, irritability, or insomnia. Getting the diagnosis right matters because treatment depends on understanding the full pattern of your symptoms, not just how you feel today. That is why we take an individualized approach to every evaluation and follow up appointment with our patients. We listen carefully, ask the right questions, and work with you to build a treatment plan that works.
Depression
Depression is more than feeling sad. Many people suffer much longer than they need to because they think they should be able to keep going. You don't have to do this alone! We take your symptoms seriously, treat every patient with compassion and respect, and develop a treatment plan based on your unique needs and goals.
Anxiety
Anxiety is manifested by both emotional and physical symptoms. Excessive worry, feelings of dread or doom, problems concentrating, sleep disturbances, and physical symptoms such as racing heart, excessive sweating, and muscle tension are just some symptoms of anxiety. Additionally, there are different types of anxiety disorders, such as separation disorder, social anxiety and panic disorder, to name a few. Medication management is very often successful and helps to return you to a good quality of life.
PTSD
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can develop after experiencing or witnessing a life threatening or severely traumatic event. Symptoms include anxiety, flashbacks and nightmares lasting over a month are a few examples of the disturbances found with this disorder. The good news is that this is a highly treatable condition.
Autism
Autism, a neurodevelopmental condition, often includes signs such as limited eye contact, delayed speech, repetitive behaviors, difficulty with social interactions, sensory sensitivity, and difficulty with changes in routines. Mistee Jefferies is IBCCES Certified as an Autism Specialist and completed formal training in the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) through the Sunfield Institute. The ADOS-2 is widely recognized as the gold standard observational assessment tool used in Autism diagnosis across the lifespan. Click here for more information.
